Call/Email your Senators to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020. This Act has already been passed in the House of Representatives, but must be passed in the Republican-controlled Senate before it can become a law.

I am writing to urge you to pass the Justice in Policing Act of 2020 (HR.7210/S.3912, introduced in the Senate as S.3912 by Sen. Cory Booker. In light of the needless fatalities caused by police use of deadly force, especially among the African-American community, it is imperative that this law be passed. Not only will this law increase officer accountability by instituting policies that will hold officers accountable for any misconduct, but it will also institute policies to demilitarize the police and eliminate racial profiling within the police department, which will serve to prevent excessive violence entirely. This, in turn, will improve the public perception of police and improve community relations overall.Can I count on you to support the Justice in Policing Act of 2020 and to vote “yes” when it comes to the floor?Thank you for your consideration.”
